It’s been a Ruff summer for Phoenix and Smokey.
I created an online survey where people told me the strangest things their dog has eaten and not make himself (or herself) sick. The following list has me convinced me we are all surrounded by Bad Dogs to such a degree, that when my major policy renewal season is over at the insurance agency, I may just start petitioning the State Legislature to make Chronic Bad Dog Syndrome (CBDS) an ailment worthy of allowing me to obtain an ADA placard for my car, and maybe install some sirens and flashing lights. Simply because when I need to get to the emergency vet, I need to get in there RIGHT NOW, and really, really need the closest parking space in order to minimize distance to their front door.
The grass is coming in nicely, but still needs protection from even accidental escapes. As noted, we will be reviewing the survivability of the grass and ground conditions on a weekly basis; however, the park remains closed at this time.
Hello again, I seem to be following a pattern of writing a new article every 13 months to two years. Clearly I do not do this for a working wage. What triggered it this time? A telephone call I received from a fellow insurance agent who had stumbled...
Thank you to all of the wonderful and hard-working folks who came down to the spring cleanup work party (aka poop-a-palooza)!
Everyone worked very hard to clean up, make the park look nice – and did a great job.
POOP-A-PALOOZA AND WORK PARTY HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO APRIL 22 – NOTE THE CHANGED DATE!
We are planning a Poop-a-palooza and work-party to do spring-time cleanup maintenance on the park – On Saturday, April 22, from 8 till 12.
Please contact Will at webmaster@chelmsforddogassociation.org or on Facebook if you are interested in helping. (Do note, this does qualify as volunteer hours for high school students and the requirements for the National Honor Society.)
The park will be CLOSED for normal usage during this work-party, but volunteers can bring their dogs to hang out in the training area while we humans make the park nice for them (and us).
This is a survey about people’s use of the Chelmsford Dog Park. We appreciate all input (and the answers are anonymous, unless you enter your email address on the last page of the survey.)
Dog poop is a problem we deal with on a daily basis. But is it dangerous? How much do you know? Is uncleaned pet waste a health hazard?
The short answer is YES!

Reminder: It is time to get your 2017 dog license!
Your dog can’t come to the park, without a valid license from your town!
Licensing your pooch online is as easy as 1-2-3:
1- Digital file (PDF, JPEG, TIFF, etc.) of your dog’s current rabies certificate from your veterinarian;
2- To renew a previously licensed dog, please have last year’s tag number available.
3- Credit card or checking account payment information.*
