Park will be closed for Maintenance – June 6 & 7

The Chelmsford Dog Park will be closed for all Dogs and Owners on June 6th and June 7th from 8:30 AM on the 6th through 4:30 PM on the 7th.

Event: Supporting Your Senior Pet – June 17

The Chelmsford Dog Association is pleased to announce the third presentation in our continuing series of educational speakers. Join us on June 27 at 6:30pm with Dr. Becky Schoenberg founder of and veterinarian at Autumn Care & Crossings for a presentation and a discussion on the support and care of senior pets.

Event: Service, Support, or Therapy – Which Dog is Which? May 13

The Chelmsford Dog Association is pleased to announce the second presentation in our continuing series of educational speakers. Join us on May 13 at 6:30pm with Anna Suslowicz and Domino for a presentation and a discussion on service dogs and the different things they can do. We'll also discuss emotional support animals and therapy animals and how they all are different.

Anniversary BBQ!

Hot Diggity Dog! It’s a BBQ Party! Celebrate the Chelmsford Dog Association’s 10th anniversary and the Chelmsford Dog Park’s 3rd anniversary on June 15 from 10am to 2pm at the Chelmsford Dog Park.

Spring Work Party and Poop-a-poo-looza

We are planning a Poop-a-poo-looza and work-party to do spring-time cleanup maintenance on the park – On Saturday, April 27, from 8 till 12.(The work party will happen in any weather less than a downpour.) Please respond on the volunteer page or contact Will via email or on Facebook if you are interested in helping. The park will be CLOSED for normal usage during this work-party, but volunteers can bring their dogs to hang out in the training area while we humans make the park nice for them (and us).  [One human will be asked to keep watch on the dogs while the others work - with trade-offs for breaks.]

Event: Recognizing Dog Behavior, April 22

The Chelmsford Dog Association is pleased to announce the first presentation in what we hope will be a continuing series of educational speakers! .Join us with Marjie Alonso, Executive Director of IAABC for a presentation and a discussion on dog behavior and body language, with a focus on, but not restricted to, dogs at the dog park.

Looking Forward to Spring!

Well, we just had another March snow storm, and by now, most of us are so done with winter.So, let's look forward to the spring and start planning for the things that need to happen (and things that we want to happen). Yes, this is an EXTENSIVE list of things to get done and. as usual, we'll continue to hold the work parties. However, this list is more than can be accomplished during a single work party, even  if we had 50 volunteers.

2019 Rabies and Microchip Clinic (& licensing) At the Chelmsford Dog Pound (2 Olde North Road, Next to the Chelmsford Police Station) February 9, 2018, 10:00AM - 12:00PM The event is open to everyone, and is for dogs, cats and ferrets.

2018 Chelmsford Dog Association Annual Meeting

Our November meeting is our annual meeting. The meeting will be held at the function room of the Chelmsford Police Department on Thursday, November 29 and will begin at 6:30PM. Votes will be cast immediately following the opening agenda items and any current member of the Chelmsford Dog Association may cast a vote. Elected directors will take office starting January 1 and the new board will vote to appoint the officers at the January meeting. In addition to voting for the open positions, as always the CDA will also be reviewing the status of the organization, plans for the upcoming year and the current bylaws. We will hold discussion on suggestions for amendments and/or modifications to the bylaws if desired.

Water OFF at the Park

Hey folks, it's that time of year again. The temperatures are dropping and the grass is going dormant. Water at the park has been turned off for the season. So, remember to bring some water for your pups, and remember to recycle the plastic in the blue bin, just next to the kiosk.

Howl’ween Thanks!

A HUGE thanks to all who made their way to and through the park for the event today!! Despite a rainy day, we had a successful Howl'ween event. People showed up with dogs (and themselves) in costume. Vendors set up their tents. Food was made and enjoyed, raffles and auctions were won and Prizes were handed out.

Hannaford Helps Community Bag – October

The Chelmsford Dog Association has been selected AGAIN to be a part of the Hannaford Helps Community Bag program! So head on over and buy a few more of the Hannaford Helps bags during the month of October, at the Hannaford store located in Drum Hill - we get $1 for every bag purchased and you get to help the environment! Each bag purchased (and used) can replace 8 (or more!) plastic bags, and they only cost $2.50.
