February 7, 2019  6:30 PM

  1. Call to order: 6:33 pm

  3. Approval of minutes from last meeting- Motion to approve minutes from the Nov. 29th 2018 meeting:

        • There was $ mistakenly charged to the account – it will be paid back this week.

      2. 2019 Planned Budget
    • President’s Report (Will)
      1. CDA Memberships: 19 Ind / 21Fam  (26 unrenewed since Jan 2018)/ incident report forms, donation forms, membership forms – print for kiosk             
  6. Committee Reports
    • DPAC:
    • Reallocate remaining funds from 2017 Stanton Grant Award- sand strip project- toward replacement of latches on gates.
    • Fundraising/Events Committee Report
      1. Donations- $ (plus $ from Jan)
      2. 2019 event planning? – Kathy suggests a possible adoption event with local rescues (breed specific). Can still do raffle prizes, sell tee shirts, food etc. Kathy to send email to local rescue’s to see if interested in participating.
    • Beth suggests yard sale, however had two people show up at last one. Local business like Walgreens perhaps interested in hosting event?
    • Paul reports that there are park goers that have mentioned disappointment that park is closed during events. Events happen to generate income for CDA, and having park open could cause potential safety concerns for both humans and dogs.
    • May rally-/June adoption event?
  7. Old Business/Open Issues
    • Park Enhancements: (for spring)
      1. Sand strip/digging pit
      2. Small tires (move to small dog side)
      3. Large tires (put in main dog area)
      4. Gazebo (suggested location change: Middle of park instead of in mulch)- see above
      5. New trash cans – one by hill and one by small dog side near time out kennel. $500-$600 for two new trash cans and posts etc.
      6. Will mentions the Hudson dog park has sponsorship plaques. Notes they are small enough that can’t be seen from the street and could be applied facing inward towards park.
      7. Prisoners from Billerica correction house- for manual labor- nominal fee goes to the betterment of corrections- lunch water, donuts, coffee to be provided by CDA. At least 1 CDA member present to supervise.
      8. Will suggests Amazon device that was discussed by group for grass growing. $149 for 72 feet.
      9. Pallets have been collected.

    • March & April Meeting Dates- March 26th / April 24th.
