The Chelmsford Dog Association Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 13 in the Training Room (Room L006) at the Chelmsford Fire Department at the Chelmsford Town Offices (50 Billerica Rd, Chelmsford) and will begin at 6:30PM.

The CDA Board of Directors has 4 open (2 year) positions for election this year.

In-Person Nominations will be closed at the October Meeting but nominations by mail, per the bylaws will remain open for submissions postmarked by October 29.

We encourage all CDA members to attend the Annual Meeting in November, and vote.

Only those present at the meeting may vote.

The following are the nominees for the four (4) Director positions on the board. (alphabetical)

  • Beth Bukala: (Incumbent) Beth is currently a Director on the CDA Board of Directors.
Beth has been a CDA member since 2009 and has been on the board since 2010. She served as recording secretary for 5 of those years and has helped to run almost all of the CDA events over the past 8 years. Beth was a key member of the CDA and DPAC during the grant processes which enabled us to receive over $300,000 for building the park and helped scout the possible locations for the park within the town. She has been behind the grill at the annual Spring and Howl’ween events for the past few years. Beth also serves on the Dog Park Advisory Committee (DPAC) for the town. Beth is the proud dog mom to Ernie and her rescue dogs Bradley and Nala. Outside of the CDA, Beth is a teacher in the Billerica school system.
  • Carly Reim: Carly Connor Reim has been a CDA member since 2017. Carly has been active in Chelmsford dog park activities and events, and is the Chairperson for the Drainage Committee. Carly also moderates the Chelmsford dog park Facebook group. She sees the dog park as a destination, and is passionate about dogs and the community. A resident of Chelmsford for over 20 years, Carly lives with her husband Jeff, their son Gabe (a college senior), and their rescue, Lando.
  • Danielle Corsino: (Incumbent) Danielle is currently a Director on the CDA Board of Directors.
Danielle has been a CDA member and Board Director since 2009. She has worked as a tireless fundraiser during many of those years including assisting in many of the CDA events where she is known for making her balloon animals. Danielle was a member of the CDA board and DPAC during the grant processes which enabled us to receive over $300,000 for building the park and helped scout the possible locations for the park. She also serves on the Dog Park Advisory Committee (DPAC) for the town. She frequents the park with her corgi, Patrice, and helps with park maintenance and donation collection. Danielle works in the Westford school system.
  • Kathy Gould: (Incumbent) Kathy is currently a Director on the CDA Board of Directors and is the Executive Director of the Events & Fundraising Committee.
Kathy has been a CDA member since 2016 and ran the Events and Fundraising Committee since shortly after joining until mid-2019 when she stepped back from the Chairperson role to serve as the Executive Director. During her tenure as chairperson, she ran many successful fundraising efforts, raising thousands of dollars for the CDA.  She continues to work with the Committee and participated in the hugely successful Spare Change September to raise over $4,000 more. She was elected to the board in 2017.  She is a regular at the park, with her dog, Jack and and, in addition to her non-stop ideas for fundraising, Kathy also helps out with park maintenance.
  • Lauren Coffey: Lauren Coffey has been a member of the CDA for 3 years.  She spearheaded a $1,500 fundraising effort for smaller trash receptacles, which helped keep the CDP open for the past two winters. Lauren has been a dedicated volunteer for the CDA working with the core volunteers of the fundraising committee together to raise over $7,000, selling Katie’s 50/50 raffle tickets to support drainage improvements and collecting change during the Spare Change September campaign. She is an active member of the Fundraising and Drainage Committees and continues to attend CDP work parties to maintain our beautiful park. Her experience in town government, other non-profit organizations, as well as career experience in engineering, marketing, sales and teaching will benefit the CDA and its future endeavors.
  • Randy Barth: Randy has been a CDA member since 2017 and has been the CDA’s DJ for events for the past 2 years. He can be seen at the park twice a day with his best friend, Chewie. And although Chewie looks like the 75lb Golden-Husky mix that he is, Chewie’s DNA test states that he is 25% Chihuahua. Hmm. Randy is also a return resident to Chelmsford. He grew up and graduated from Chelmsford High, moved away for 25 years and then returned with his wife Julie, daughter Sarah and sons Brendan and Nolan.

Votes will be cast immediately following the opening agenda items and any current member of the Chelmsford Dog Association may cast a vote. (Individual Memberships get one vote. Family Memberships may have up to 3 family members (if present) vote.

Elected directors will take office starting January 1 and the new board will vote to appoint the officers at their January meeting.

In addition to voting for the open positions, as always the CDA will be reviewing the status of the organization, plans for the upcoming year and the current bylaws. We will hold discussion on suggestions for amendments and/or modifications to the bylaws if desired.
