Minutes- Chelmsford Dog Association Meeting

August 20, 2012 Tuesday, 7:00PM

Chelmsford Police Station, 2 Olde North Rd., Chelmsford, Ma

Call to Order: 7:03PM

 

Roll Call:

Present: Beth B, Vivian, Bill C, Mary, Sandra, Danielle, Will,

 

Not Present: Bill B, Erik, Donna

 

-Beth B gave Sandra $for 2 weeks of training, Danielle gave Sandra $ for 3 weeks of training

 

-Approval of Minutes July 2, 2013

Everyone’s welcome! The more, the merrier, see notes on supplies

                *Farm Fair-Sept 14th – Barrett Byam House, Donna Parlee is running it. 12-4, vendors can set up at 10:30.  This is a big event for us.  Mary and Sandra are going to bring Charlie

                *Markus & Leslie Painting class-Sept 21st 7-9 PM- tickets are $40 and we get $15 of each.  There are only 36 tickets being sold.  The mural will be displayed at the libaray.  BYOB, Fishbones is providing the appetizers

*GSRLNE Walk-n-Wag-Sept 28th registration’s at 10:15, the event is 11:00-3:00.  Sandra gave Vivian a $ check for a food permit.  Erik is certified food safe this year

*Discussion: Common Day-also Sept 28th  – we’re not going to attend this year

                *Howl’ween-October 19th, raindate October 20th 11-3 Vivian will contact the DJ, and Donna, and order trophies.  We should go up the weekend of the 5th to trim and mow.  Vivian wants to limit vendors because of the space, Sandra suggested cramming the vendors in because they had lots of space last year.  We want to do a coloring contest again this year

                *Steps for Pets-LHS-October 13th  11-3 – Walk-a-thon, this is a table event for us

                *CCA Pet Film Festival-scheduled for October 19th – any and all welcome

                *Chelmsford Holiday Prelude-Dec 1st Erik will be Santa again, Mary and Sandra will take pictures and Will will put them on the website

                *ACO’s Rabies Clinic-December-TBD 

                *Status/discussion: Craft Fair – not this year

Mary questioned if it was too early to approach businesses to buy future signage at the dog park in order to raise an additional $5,000 in order to maximize the grant money

                                Website: Will- posted the painting party info on the website, Will would like Bill A to write more blurbs about the training b/c the one he posted was very popular on the website

                Will to put something on the website about nominations and elections in November

                                -President:

*Insurance: renewal processed, ended up being $, will add events as needed

*Hand out Committee applications for Dog Park Advisory Committee, these to be filled out and given to Vivian-Bill C., Beth B., Danielle C, Mary M. and Erik M had expressed interest.

                               

-To Do: Draft charge and mission for advisory committee

 

*The MOU was on the agenda for the BOS meeting last night, Paul Cohen asked town council to look at line 16 – this may require more town meeting action.  We will be back on the agenda for the BOS next Monday

 

New Business

-Next meeting date- Wednesday October 2nd   7pm.  We’ll try to get the meeting room in the police station.

 Annual Meeting-November 13th 7 pm. We’ll try to get the meeting room in the police station.

Notes:

 

                                For events-Need: E-Z up (s), tables, chairs, some shirts, baskets, paper info, copy of plan, email sign up, brochures, free info, cash box and at least two people to work the table unload and reload, preferably 3-4 people.

                -German Shepherd Rescue Walk at 4-H

                                Will be a food event-have stove, coffee urn, E-Z up, 2 tables, chairs, trash barrel and bags.  Vivian will get permit from Westford

                                Will need a third table to sell some stuff and have info

                                Will need to pick up food-burgers, dogs, rolls, veggie burgers, soda chips, water, condiments, coffee, powdered creamer, sugar, sweetener, cups, plates napkins, possible chili, bowls, donuts.
